TN SCORE Gubernatorial Forum
I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support that’s been pouring into my campaign after the Tennessee SCORE Gubernatorial Forum. It’s encouraging to see that Tennesseans are devoted to reforming education, and that they believe that my experience as the only candidate from either party with both legislative and executive experience is critical in making our schools second to none.
The positive responses came from reporters, educators, and voters alike. These were particularly encouraging:
- Calling me one of the winners of the forum, Jackson Baker of the Memphis Flyer said, “former state House Democratic leader Kim McMillan exuded pure sincerity.”
- Supporters on my Facebook page wrote messages such as, "Excellent presentation by Kim. I believe our next Governor will be Governor Kim. Proud of you Kim!"
- Stand for Children’s parent representative Bob Teague said, “with you as 'Tennessee's First' governor, we will claim in headlines nationwide, 'Tennessee's First' in education, health, economic development, and effective and efficient government.”
Thank you so much for all of your kind words. But this race isn’t about praise. It’s about doing the hard work to make Tennessee first. It will take strong leadership and a commitment to innovation to make these dreams a reality—commitment that I have proven. I am proud of the work I did to bring Austin Peay and Hemlock Semiconductor together, combining education with industry to create job opportunities for Tennessee.
If you missed the SCORE forum, be sure to watch the highlights in the video and share it with your friends.
